Vanilla Almond Bodybuilding Shake

1 ½ cups skimmed milk
½ cup of dry rolled oats
12 shredded almonds
1 tbsp of natural peanut butter
almond extract
2 scoops vanilla whey protein powder

Now this is a protein shake. Actually this is a mass gaining drink packed with protein. The milk, the oats, the almonds, the natural peanut butter and the whey supplement powder all give you protein - every ingredient (except the almond extract of course) is a good source of protein.

Thanks to the oats and nuts, this homemade bodybuilding shake is almost a meal in itself. There is plenty of mass in hereto satisfy most people - the oats are a source of very healthy carbohydrates that are great for bulking.

This shake can be a little on the 'grainy' side due to all the nuts and the oats as well which is why shredded almonds are recommended. Whole almonds with their skins add even more of the 'grainy' texture which seems to stick at the back of your throat.
