It is certainly an idea that the vast majority of bodybuilders will most likely avoid. It's worth trying though, even if only to confirm that it is in fact not to your taste ;-) As mentioned in the other homemade fruit protein shake recipes, always try to use fresh fruit whenever possible as the benefits in both taste and nutritional / vitamin value are worth it. If you are not able to use fresh strawberries then frozen strawberries will still work but you may need to add a little more honey to sweeten the drink. You might try using other types of berries or even a mixture of fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and so on).
